What can I Expect During a Session ?

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I specialise in ‘solution focus hypnotherapy’ thereby focusing on solutions to problems rather than taking you back over the past.
Provided you are willing to work together with me to make changes to the way you think and commit to the therapy process, Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy can be highly effective in relieving a wide variety of symptoms including those of anxiety and stress.

​What happens at a Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Session ?

At the session we will not dwell on a particular problem. We will acknowledge the problem during our initial meeting and then move on to how we’d like things to be.
Dwelling on the problem isn’t helpful and actually makes it worse. We can get so lost in the problem that we can’t see the first small step towards our desired outcome.

I will explain how our mind creates unwanted symptoms and behaviours and can get in the way of our desire to move forward and meet our potential. We will explore the human fear response, as well as the power of positive visualisation and self-talk and you will learn how to train your mind to work for, rather than against you. You’ll be guided into thinking in a solution-focused way using a technique called the Miracle Question. How would your future be if you did not have the pain or the problem you have sought treatment for?  This is broken into small achievable steps. 


Once we’ve built a picture of how we’d like things to be (positive visualisation) then we use trance to enhance the effects of the solution focused, brain based elements of the session. Trance harnesses the positive elements of the natural occurring hypnotic state, using them to beneficial, therapeutic effect. In this relaxed state, your mind is more responsive to suggestion. Your conscious
and subconscious mind will work in harmony while you and your hypnotherapist work together to alter your perceptions.
Most of us have the ability to go into a light trance during the therapy session. Some go much deeper. Either way it’s relaxing, enjoyable and effective! Throughout the session you are always in control.


Clients often describe how amazing they feel for the next few days. Hypnosis uses trance to encourage a natural brain processing state in which we can gain clarity and go away feeling confident, calm and ready to make positive change.

 

Make hypnotherapy a part of your daily routine

You will be provided with a hypnotherapy recording to take home. This is an important part of the therapy that will reinforce your new positive mindset on a daily basis.
